Get ready for a fun and meaningful day by the sea in Gordon’s Bay this Saturday, 18 April. 🌊☀️
The Gordon’s Bay Yacht Club is hosting its annual Anything That Floats race 🚤—an entertaining event where teams build creative homemade floats and race them around the Old Harbour. From clever designs to hilarious attempts, it’s a crowd-pleasing spectacle. 😂
The event also supports a wonderful cause ❤️, raising funds for National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) Station 9, the local rescue team that keeps the area’s waters safe. 🚑 🌊
Teams can enter by building a float and making a minimum R350 donation 💰, with prizes awarded for top fundraising 🏆 and a lucky draw 🎁 for participants. All teams must follow basic safety rules, including wearing life jackets 🦺 and having at least one adult member.
Not taking part? Come down, support the teams 👏, and enjoy the lively harbour atmosphere 🎉. It’s a wonderful way to spend the day—full of fun, creativity, and community spirit.
To enter, email gbyc@gbyc.co.za with your team details. 📧 Just remember… make sure it floats! 😄
